S i r P e t e r C o o k (born in 1936) is an English architect, lecturer and writer on architectural subjects. He was a founder of Archigram and was knighted in 2007 by the Queen for his services to architecture and teaching. His achievements with Archigram were recognised by the Royal Institute of British Architects in 2004, when the group was awarded the Royal Gold Medal. Cook was a director of London`s Institute of Contemporary Arts and the Bartlett School of Architecture at University College London, and has been dircevtor of Art Net in London and curator oft he British Pavillion at the Venice Architecture Biennale. He continues to curate, organise and exhibit around the world. Construction of his arts building the Kunsthaus Graz (aka „The Friendly Alien“) in Graz, Austria (with Colin Fournier) brought his work to a wider public. In 2013 he (along with his studio CRAB) completed the Vienna Business and Economics University`s new law faculty and Australia`s newest school of architecture, the Abedian School of Architecture at Bond University on the Gold Coast. S P L I T T E R W E R K : Project Space + Permanent Exhibition + Publishing + Collection + Archive + Ateliers. The internationally active Atelier SPLITTERWERK was founded in Graz in 1988 and since then has established itself as a brand for fine arts with its independent positions within contemporary architecture as one of the worldīs meaningful collectives. Since 2015 the idea exists to make the headquarters of SPLITTERWERK in the skyscraper on St. Peter-Pfarrweg 30 more accessible to the interested public. Since then a permanent exhibition with selected works of the Atelierīs formation itīs projectarchive, library, and studioworkplaces has been established on the prmises. From June 2017 onward the project space will start with itīs program. Edith Hemmrich and Mark Blaschitz will give their current and very personal insight into teir world with a selection of both new and established positions of their local and international environment.
