SPLITTERWERKs Co-Gründer Mark Blaschitz, Edith Hemmrich und Josef Roschitz erachten ihr aktuelles Projekt „Arkaden Wies“ aus baukünstlerischen Gesichtspunkten in der Realisation in einigen zentralen Bereichen als gescheitert. Wir distanzieren uns von der die Bauphase begleitenden Planung und Beratung der Auftraggeber, der Entscheidung keine Örtliche Bauaufsicht einzusetzen und dem Dokumentationsmaterial, das sich derzeit im Umlauf befindet. Eine kritische Aufarbeitung des gebauten Projekts „Arkaden Wies“ mit einer Serie von Fotoarbeiten und Architekturzeichnungen ist in Vorbereitung und geht sowohl den Stärken als auch den Schwächen der Realisierung auf den Grund. Diese „Re-Virtualisierung“ des Gebäudes hat das Ziel die fließenden Übergänge zwischen Lüge und Wahrheit inmitten unserer Mediengesellschaft zu untersuchen und SPLITTERWERKs „The Failed Treefrog“ von der Realisationsebene wieder in die Projektebene zurückzuführen. |

The Blue Shell is a one room apartment in the Black Treefrog with the concept of the Multiincident Shell. |

Adaptation of an old farmyard, and a fire station. The existing building envelope is supplemented by a trellis, and a new envelope - completely detached from the outer - is constructed within. The program of daily life - kitchen niche, sleeping cove, bathing niche, etc. - is then integrated into the space in between. The new interior envelope is conceived as a continuously active media surface – Projections, enlarged picture screens or TV – that makes the spatial divisions into virtual phenomena. A 1:1 model apartment was built and tested by SPLITTERWERK in the spring of 2000 for the exhibition "The Foot in the Door" in the Künstlerhaus Vienna. |

PLANET PUNTIGAM stands for heterogenity, mixing according to use and a post-urbanistic increase of individualism. Instead of the class society of the last centuries, lifestyle and image characterize today’s society. This leads to a differentiation of the construction and property market according to target groups. The appearance and the use of thus developed living space are ruled by lifestyle, image and the respective design. An important aspect in this is the ability to combine these architectures and landscapes. In this sense, agglomerations in opposition to formal and social segregations may develop. In July 2002 SPLITTERWERK decides to create a superstructure for the Beethoven Frieze by Gustav Klimt in the basement of the Vienna Sezession.
